HERITAGE HILL WEEKEND TOUR OF HOMES
OCTOBER 1 & 2, 2005

Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, the annual Heritage Hill Weekend Tour of Homes invites you to celebrate the past and present in historic Heritage Hill, one of the largest historic districts recognized by the National Register of Historic Places.

For 35 years, Heritage Hill has opened its doors and welcomed over 3,000 Tour visitors to experience an array of architecture, colors, decorating styles, and beautiful gardens. Tour offers the chance to step inside 11 historic homes (including 8 private residences). Whatever your architectural or decorating tastes, this Tour will delight your senses.

Saturday - 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday - 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

TICKET INFO:

  • ADVANCE TICKETS:
    ***Early Bird Special *** Tickets purchased before September 12 are $12.00
    Regular Advance Tickets are $15.00 and are available at the Heritage Hill Association office or after September 12 at the following locations:
    • all Grand Rapids area Bank One, Family Fare Food Stores, and Lake Michigan Credit Unions
    •  Martha's Vineyard
    • Wealthy Street Bakery

    Advance ticket sales end at each location’s close of business on Friday, September 30, 2005
     

  • TOUR WEEKEND: Tickets are $18.00 on the days of Tour and can be purchased from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Davenport University, 415 East Fulton. Davenport University is the only ticket sales location on the Weekend of Tour.
  • Children 12 and under are FREE; there are no Special Rates for Seniors/ Students
  • Tour goes on rain or shine
  • Tour tickets allow one person through the house one time

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • Houses can be seen in any order. Simply refer to the map on your ticket and begin the Tour at any of the open houses.
  • Free Shuttle Buses stop at or near every Tour house as well as Davenport University. Buses stop at each location every 10 to 15 minutes. Tour is approximately one mile from north to south. Tourists are welcome to walk or drive the route although parking at Tour stops may be crowded.
  • Restrooms are available at Davenport University - 415 E. Fulton, Meyer May House - 450 Madison SE.
  • Refreshments are for sale at 57 College NE and Wealthy Street Bakery.
  • Free Parking is available at the Central High School lots at 400 Lyon NE and the corner of Prospect & Fountain, Davenport University lots entry on Prospect NE and Fountain NE.

Almost Lost Book: Building and Preserving Heritage Hill - $40.00+ tax

A 120 page “coffee table” book about the social and physical development of the Heritage Hill neighborhood is available Home Tour weekend. The book is $40.00 + 2.40 sales tax. The book is also available at the Heritage Hill Association office, 126 College SE, 459-8950.
